In July 2000 Lee was introduced to Salsa. After one evening he was hooked.
Lee setup Salsa classes in Chesterfield in September 2000, making Absolute Salsa the first company to teach salsa in Chesterfield, since then many other teachers have followed. Absolute Salsa’s flag ship class was at the Winding Wheel, 21 people attended the first week, 84 people attended the second week the rest is history, classes moved to the Miners Welfare Club soon after due to lack of space, classes have remained there since .Lee setup salsa classes in Derby in the October 2000, after various venue changes they settled at the Polish Club in 2005 on a Wednesday. January 2008 saw Salsa classes start at Rollerworld Derby. Without doubt these classes became the busiest in the UK, one the biggest venues in the UK with a capacity of holding over 400 dancers at any one time during a lesson and still space to dance.
Absolute Salsa also runs Social events, with a combination of a quality venues, excellent DJ’s and top teachers these are currently being held at Rollerworld and Derby Dance, these evenings have been said to be the best in the social calendar, definitely not to be missed, more information can be found via our website. Lee can be seen teaching all over the UK and Europe, his teaching style is relaxed and humorous; it’s this approach that won him the accolade of UK’s Top Salsa Teacher award 2007/2008. Lee’s classes are split into 70% enjoyment and 30% learning.
